Class Experience
This is a flex class which means there are no set meeting times. Knowledge of multiplication facts will be needed in order to understand division. Students will be able to work on the material on their own time each week. Each week the students will watch a video on division and follow along with how to solve the problems. After watching me work out a few problems, the student will then work the problems on their own and match their answer with the answer I will provide on screen. I will work through each problem to show how to get the correct answer. Classes will be held on Nearpod, which is an interactive platform for them to communicate with me and other students in this class. We will also use Flipgrid, which is a cool app to record and post videos. I encourage students to share their different methods of division and tricks to remembering division and multiplication facts. At the end of each class I will have a worksheet for the students to do and submit for review. At any time if the student needs help, we can schedule a zoom call to review the material. Hello!
I have home schooled my 2 children for the last 8 years. I have taught everything from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. I also have a TESOL certification to teach English as a second language.
I believe that kids learn best when the material is provided in a fun yet informative way. When kids are bored, they will not retain the information. When they have fun learning, they commit the information to memory much easier and are eager to learn more.
