Class experience
Learning to type is a fundamental skill that you will always use. In this 4 lesson course learners will go from never having used a keyboard confidently to learning the essential typing skills. In the first lesson there will be a pre-test to gauge the learners’ typing skills. At the end of the course there will be a post-test to show how the learner has improved their skills over the 4 lessons. 4 lessons//4 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Home Row Keys• Learner will demonstrate their beginning typing skills through a 1-minute typing test. • Learner will become familiar with the home row keys by completing repetitive exercises. • Learner will practice touch typing by applying what they learned through the previous exercises.Week 2Lesson 2Top Row Keys• Learner will become familiar with the top row keys by completing repetitive exercises • Learner will practice touch typing by applying what they learned through the previous exercisesWeek 3Lesson 3Bottom Row Keys• Learner will become familiar with the bottom row keys by completing repetitive exercises • Learner will practice touch typing by applying what they learned through the previous exercisesWeek 4Lesson 4Touch Typing Practice• Learner will put into practice the skills they have learned in lessons 1-3. • Learner will demonstrate their improved typing skills through an end of course 1-minute typing test.
At the end of the course the learner will: Understand the concept of touch typing have learned the home row, top row and bottom row keys on the keyboard have improved on their typing speed and accuracy

This course begins with a 1-Minute Typing Test to gauge the learner's skill level. At the end of the course the learner will retake the 1-Minute Typing Test to evaluate how they improved over the 4-lesson course.Grades Offered
A laptop or desktop computer with a standard keyboard is required for this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
