Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be provided with a study guide at the end of each video lesson. It includes a glossary of terms, practice quiz, essay questions and FAQ. A podcast episode discussing each lesson will even be provided! The study guide will review the fundamental concepts learned, as well as prepare them for the optional final course test.
Letter Grade
A 45-question test is available for parents who want their student to get a letter grade at the end of the course.
Certificate of Completion
For students who past the final class test.

Class Experience

DaVinci Resolve is the industry-standard when it comes to video editing, color grading, and digital art. Used by professional Hollywood studios, this DaVinci Resolve tutorial will introduce you to this powerful (and free) software, with no prior experience required.

By the end of the class, students will have the skills and knowledge to create a basic edit in DaVinci Resolve while exploring its applications in film & video production and even entrepreneurship.

Each lesson will contain a video presentation. A study guide will also be provided with each lesson, including a glossary of terms, practice quiz, essay questions, and FAQ. A podcast episode discussing each lesson will also be provided!

Lesson 1:
Getting Started
 This lesson serves as a foundation for beginners to grasp the basics of DaVinci Resolve. It familiarizes them with the interface, key functionalities, and navigates them through essential settings. The tutorial emphasizes the software's free and powerful nature, encouraging users to explore its video editing capabilities further.

Lesson 2:
Basic Video Editing
 This lesson provides a comprehensive overview of basic video editing in DaVinci Resolve. It introduces users to the essential interface elements, import procedures, editing tools, Timeline manipulation techniques, and the rendering process. By mastering these fundamentals, beginners can confidently embark on their video editing journey using DaVinci Resolve.

Lesson 3:
Multiple Video and Audio Tracks
 This lesson shows how to import and use multiple video and audio tracks It explains how to add files to the timeline, arrange clips on different tracks, and control track display with mute and solo. The lesson also covers basic editing techniques like cutting, copying, and pasting.  It demonstrates how dragging a file to a track with existing content will overwrite the underlying content. 
Lesson 4:
Video Transitions
 This lesson focuses on adding transitions between video and image clips. Students will learn how to import media, arrange clips on the timeline, and apply various transitions like dissolves, arrows, and pushes. The lesson also highlights the difference between using the delete and backspace keys to remove clips.
