Class Experience
Each week, we will begin class with a very short lesson in which I will explain an important fundamental of painting (or working with color in general). I will rotate between these topics each week to include subjects such as color, hue, value, composition, color complements, etc. We will then practice what we have learned by doing some short activities. After the quick lesson and activity, we will then begin digitally painting an animal (usually) using a reference photo. Students will...
-Learn the fundamentals of color and composition -Practice a workflow for approaching any art piece -Learn about how to digitally paint -Learn skills that can be applied to traditional painting -Have fun creating beautiful digital paintings!
I will add the reference and my work to the classroom after each class so that students who want to work more on the picture can. I will also offer optional homework suggestions each week for students who want more practice with what we learned in class.
-Digital art software such as one of the apps listed in the External Resources section (other digital art programs are fine) -Stylus (Apple pen, Wacom tablet etc.)
1 hour 25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
