Greetings musicians! This is an early music singing and rhythm class for young children! Teacher Tammy has taught elementary music for fourteen years! Learn through the Kodaly Method of teaching music which includes solfege and rhythm reading! Every week we will start with a warm-up/hello song, an introduction song, and work on rhythm and pitches with common folk songs! We will also begin to read simple solfege pitches and rhythms based upon the songs we sing! Week 1: Hello/warm-up song! Introduction song! Snail song, listen and then echo! Look at the rhythms and pitches in the snail song! Use visuals printed out to help learn the rhythms and pitches in the snail song. Goodbye song! Week 2: Review hello and introduction song! Review snail song! Review so and mi hand signs! Review tas and titi rhythms! Learn one two tie my shoe! Echo sing and act out the actions of this song! Using paper printouts follow along with the solfege and rhythms! play a clapping game to reinforce learning! Goodbye song! Week 3: review known songs! Review so and mi and ta and titi rhythms. Learn Lucy Locket by echo singing! Look at the printouts for this song to learn rhythms and solfege la. Play Lucy Locket game! Goodbye song! Week 4: hello/introduction song! Review known songs, rhythms and pitches! Learn about a rest with the game song walk, run stop! Learn who has the penny song and game! Learn the pitches for penny song! Review and goodbye song!

Learn basic rhythms and pitches like so and mi and ta and titi. Practice matching pitches and rhythms.

This is an active music class at times and students will need a safe and clear space to move during movement songs.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I love teaching music, math, creative writing and art! I am a licensed k-12 music teacher but have many hobbies and interests. I have taught elementary music for fourteen years! I have a masters degree in education and a bachelors of music education. I have also taught English Language Learning online to Chinese speakers and have tutored students in many different disciplines. I think learning should be fun, relevant and geared to every learner. I love bringing out the creative side in your student! I have a twin sister and two young boys!
