Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten
Beginner Level
Class meets once weekly in small groups (6 max) Practice math skills and play games. Build confidence and speed. Worksheets are sent after every class for optional practice on the skill learned that day.
Learn kindergarten math skills: Class is very interactive. Students are asked to bring a whiteboard for writing problems down. The teacher will be sure the student knows how to correctly form equations.
Here is what we will practice: addition and subtraction below 10. Practice counting from 1-20 forward and backward. Learn to be quick with plus and minus 1. Learn the partners (2+2, 3+3 etc.)
Begin counting by 10's 5's and 2's. Identifying even or odd. I encourage my students to draw or write the math equations along with the teacher. We use dice, coins and sometimes bananas to "see" the math.
We play a dice game for interaction and to build their confidence in numbers. I will encourage your child to call out answers if they know. Small classes means we can stay unmuted most of the time in class. (Please make sure your child is in a quiet environment if possible) I want to make your child feel confident and happy doing math.

You are welcome to join this class anytime. I strive to meet your child at their level.
See you in the classroom!
