Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to correctly form the cursive letters in their full names. I will offer guidance and practice to help each learner feel confident in writing their name in cursive.
As a retired elementary school teacher and mother (and grandmother), I know the importance of quality direct instruction to teach students how to write in cursive (which also allows them to be able to read cursive handwriting). With all the available technology used to communicate, cursive handwriting does not get the time needed in the classroom to help students become proficient. I can give your learner a solid foundation in their ability to write in cursive.
There is no homework for his class, but practicing their name in cursive is suggested.
Lined handwriting paper is suggested, however any paper/pencil will work.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed using observation. I will provide positive feedback and offer correction and assistance as needed.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students are encouraged to practice cursive handwriting outside of class.
