This class is taught in English.

Learn the basics of coding and programming using the Python language with 1:1 help. Students will learn how to code, create algorithms and solve problems using Python. They will gain a solid understanding of fundamental concepts of the language like data types, variables, functions and modules. Additionally, students will be provided the opportunity for a hands-on experience of coding. Overall, the goal is to give students a strong foundation in programming and the ability to continue learning and growing as a coder. 

As a 1-on-1 class, there is also more flexibility on subjects covered if a student has a deeper interest in one subject of programming over another. 

I began programming in graduate school where I used Python for data organization and visualization. Today I continue to program at my job with the U.S. Geological Survey. 

Homework Offered
Homework will be optional and given every other week, give or take. It is used more as a review of content covered. Homework will largely consist of practice code and conceptual review. The work can be completed individually or with other students. Students are encouraged to use any source including the teacher and the internet! 

Again, homework is optional, but I highly recommend it as it helps learners get a better understanding of the structure of code.
