US Grade 3 - 6
Students in this one-time class will learn how to make their own logic puzzles. They can then use their logic puzzles to challenge their friends and family. This step-by-step course will help students choose topics for their logic puzzles from each student's interest areas. Students will learn about the basic types of clues used for logic puzzles as well as a few more advanced clues. By the end of class, each student will have at least one completed logic puzzle as well as inspiration for several more. Students can then complete more puzzles independently after class, if they wish. Students will be encouraged to interact with each other through discussion and help with developing clues for each logic puzzle. This class has a basic structure to help develop puzzles step-by-step, however each student will be working at their own pace with teacher support. Why should students try Logic Puzzles? -Logic puzzles help students develop critical and logical thinking -Students practice step-by-step problem solving -Logic puzzles help students practice reading comprehension and noticing key words -Logic puzzles build the foundation of math problem solving -They are a fun enrichment activity and can be a life-long leisure activity
