Have you ever dreamed about having your own babysitting business? Do you love to play with and help young children? Or maybe you are a little too young to babysit on your own and would like to explore being a mother’s helper instead? This is the perfect class for you! In this class, we will explore what it looks like to create a business focussed on both 1) babysitting and 2) being a mother's helper. We will discuss: -The roles expected in each of these positions. -Ways to market yourself, especially with safety in mind. -How to create a "babysitting bag" to enhance your services. -How to price your services. -How to find CPR & First Aid classes near you. -Information you should acquire from parents, and what to do in case of an emergency. -Extra things you can do while babysitting to enhance your service (such as doing any dishes you use). After the first class, students will be given a homework assignment that they will present during the second class. Students will be expected to: -Research the going rates for babysitters/mother's helpers in their area. -Create a flyer or business card advertising their services. -Create a "babysitting bag". Students will be encouraged to ask questions and interact with each other as they develop their businesses.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Jessica, and I am a homeschooling mom to four children. I have worked with preschool and kinder aged children for over 15 years, and have done everything from running a preschool center, teaching classes, and designing curriculums for use by others. I also owned my own music business for a few years, teaching children 6 months-5 years the foundational aspects of music. I will offer your young children active, engaging, and fun classes on a variety of topics!
I have my black belt in mma (mix of Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, American Boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), as well as a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, and regularly teach classes to everyone from toddlers to adults. I love helping children make a connection between fitness/health and fun by making workouts a fun experience rather than one to dread.
I am a certified group fitness instructor, and carry an additional certification as a Youth Exercise Specialist. I love helping teens and preteens explore how they can be strong, healthy, and active individuals. I hope to give your teenaged children, whether they are active athletes or not, a great workout through a variety of offerings for fitness, strength, agility, etc.
I have a personal love for financial responsibility. Although I run several websites, I especially enjoy running my site dedicated to helping others how to live debt free and financially wise lives. I love teaching children about entrepreneurship and money matters through fun thematic units such as “building their own cupcake shop”, to help them understand money in a practical, meaningful, way.
I hope that my experience in these areas, as well as my background and love for teaching children will lead to inspiring classes that your children leave feeling accomplished, encouraged, and eager to come back for more!
