In this ongoing course, that meets twice each week, we will cover essential topics in high school geometry including: lines and angles, proof writing, triangles, congruence and similarity, quadrilaterals, circles, solids, and transformations. We will follow a textbook and complete worksheets and activities in the live classroom that correspond to the lessons in the textbook. Homework may be assigned for completion each week, and feedback will be given for submitted homework if requested. Here is a topic schedule for the first 4 weeks of this class: Week of January 6th: Lines, Midpoint, and Bisectors Week of January 13th: Rays, Angles, and Triangles Week of January 20th: Logic Week of January 27th: Proving Statements in Geometry Any learner taking this class should have a prior knowledge of Algebra 1 concepts including: solving equations and inequalities, simplifying and factoring polynomial expressions, slope, and equations of lines. [Please contact me if you would like to set up a one-on-one informal assessment of your learner's prerequisite knowledge.] Since this is set up as an ongoing class, your learner may join at any time, but they are responsible for knowing or learning the concepts that may be required for current and future topics. If you are interested in this class, but you would like your learner to begin the class with the first topic on a date that is not listed, contact me to see if we can set up another section to begin on a later date.
