Welcome back! I am so excited to delve even deeper into grammar with all of you. I hope you are proud of what you have already learned and how far you've come! Students who have not taken part one of this course are welcome! Students should have a general knowledge of parts of speech such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc. In semester two of this high school grammar course, students will continue to learn important foundational components of grammar. Students will develop an advanced understanding of the fundamentals of English grammar. Students will learn parts of speech, sentence formation, punctuation, and common word usage.
My name is Christina Broadway, and I have taught all levels of high school English over the past decade. I have extensive specialized training in Curriculum and Instruction. I have written the English curriculum for three public high schools and one private school. My students consistently perform above the 90th percentile on state and national standardized tests.
Homework Offered
Quizzes and Tests will be administered as homework. Each semester will have a final exam.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students can check their grades at any time in the Google classroom. Progress reports will be given upon request.Grades Offered
This class will utilize a printable workbook. Each Friday, students will receive their workbook pages for the following week. Please print these pages each week so that your student can use them during class. Students are encouraged to keep a binder or notebook that includes their workbook pages and blank notebook paper for additional note-taking. A pen or pencil is required. Highlighters and a colored grading pen are optional but encouraged.
