Gymnastics Class: Beginners With Experience (Part 2)
In this course, gymnasts will build on beginner skills they have previously learned and work toward more advanced gymnastics skills. Sections may be once per week for 8 weeks or twice per week for 4 weeks.

This class is for beginner gymnasts who are proficient at forward rolls and cartwheels, and ready to progress to more advanced skills. Gymnastics is a sport that requires strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, slow-sustained and quick-twitch muscle action, and so much more. A foundation in gymnastics is a great base for your child's fitness, playground skills, and future in any sport. Students will gain strength, flexibility, coordination, improve their gymnastics, and learn new gymnastics skills and terminology.
In addition to being a former competitive gymnast, I have over 18 years' experience coaching gymnastics for children of all ages at the recreational and competitive level. I have created gymnastics curriculum and taught thousands of children the fundamentals of gymnastics, my favorite sport!
Required: Clear open space Soft floor surface Roll of masking tape (for hand and foot markers, line on floor for balance) Couch cushion Chair against a wall or couch without cushion Step stool Optional: Panel mat Wedge mat Padded wall
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive a written assessment at the end of the session with notes on their progress and recommendations for the future.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As with any sport of physical activity, gymnastics carries a risk of injury. Minimize this risk with a clear open space, appropriate clothing and equipment, and adult supervision.
