Description
Class Experience
Parents will communicate to Coach Heather what skills the student wants to learn in the Outschool conversation. Coach Heather will have drills the first private lesson for the skills the student wants to learn. Every lesson will begin with a quick review and then progress to other drills to achieve the students goals.
I've been coaching gymnastics and dance for 14 years. I'm a current owner/operator of a gymnastics business located in Southern California. I'm certified through USA Gymnastics and Acrobatic Arts and I've learned from many different coaches and instructors throughout my years of coaching. I truly love to see the gymnast improve with unique progressions. Watching students achieve skills and be excited about accomplishing a body movement is amazing to watch!
Do the drills given in the lesson at least three times a week at home before next lesson.
Supply List: *Gymnastics mat or yoga mat *4-5 Pillows *Clear wall space *Dining room chair Other supplies may be needed as lessons progress. Please wear appropriate gymnastics or cheer warm-up clothes while doing class. Hair pulled back and no jewelry.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Risk of injury if students are not performing skills correctly. Parental guidance and assistance may be needed. Please make sure proper safety precautions are taken. For example, make sure student is not performing skills next to furniture and has proper matting required for class. This is a risky class because the student does not have a coach at home to work with them on proper form and technique and the potential for injury exists. Parent supervision(adult present during the class) and skills may need to be modified according to skill level, skill, and strength of each student.
