Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
First and foremost, this is a Content Rich Writing Class that will assist writers with producing cohesive content in their text responses. Students should have taken GUIDED WRITING BASICS 2 to have a better understanding of what will be presented in this course, which is a continuation of practicing the devices and strategies from the previous classes. (This is not mandatory)

The student writer will learn how to brainstorm, close read, annotate, extract key concepts, and construct ideas into a cohesive text response. As you can see these skills are Common Core aligned. The exemplars used in my lessons will be my own written responses to the same directives. This class will include small enrollment so that I can determine how to best assist students with their writing concerns. Let's take a closer look at the many skills your child will learn.
