Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 11
I have a degree in English Education and have been writing my entire life. I have written and published a book. Sometimes writing can be scary and it's helpful to have someone to walk you through the process. I want to be that person. We will brainstorm together to find a subject that the student is interested in and then learn about, and create, a strong thesis statement. We will then talk about how to write the introductory paragraph, the supporting paragraphs and the conclusion. We will also discuss transition sentences and how we can have the essay flow from one paragraph to the next. The focus will be on how to organize an essay so that it is clear for the writer and for the reader. There will be writing time in class and I will be available the entire time to talk through any glitches.
