US Grade 4 - 9
Intermediate Level
This class will be longer than most of my classes. This is because of the amount of information that will be taught. In this class, learners will be taught how to write the body of an essay. I will teach the basic skills of defining an argument, using evidence and citing sources and then I will move to more detailed skills such as structure, topic sentences and transition words and phrases. I will teach three essay structures as well as giving a list of transition words and phrases and which ones to use in which circumstances. Finally, I will use the essay question I use in the How to Write an Essay Introduction class to lead the learner in how they would write the body of an essay in response to this question. Every learner is welcome in this class. However, bear in mind this class will be a little more challenging than some of my classes.
