Class Experience

Students will improve reading skills, phonics, sight words, fluency, and comprehension.
I love reading and I am so happy to help new readers love it too! I have a Masters in Reading Education and many years experience as a Reading Specialist in public schools and as a private tutor.
Additional practice will be assigned as needed.
Materials: Paper and pencil is sufficient, but learners may enjoy a dry erase marker and board (try the dollar store). Plus, markers are easier for me to see when learners hold up their work. Printer and ability to print PDF files
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be asked to make sounds, read words and sentences. Learners will be asked discussion style comprehension questions and are expected to participate. Learners will be asked to write words and sentences independently and as a group. Teacher will adjust instruction in response to ongoing observation- based assessment.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
