Beginner Level
Use one of the world's most famous faces to build your drawing skills. Learn the basics of portrait drawings and complete a layout sketch of the guidelines for an average adult human head. Use those guidelines to create a portrait drawing of the holiday favorite, Santa. Lesson 1: In this first lesson, we will review some basics skills needed for realistic portrait drawing. We will draw a guideline base and a generalized "any-person" face. The teacher will explain the basic layout and guideline for drawing the average human head. We will create a sketch of those guidelines together. Teacher will demonstrate on camera while learners draw along. Lesson 2: In this lesson, we will work together to draw a realistic looking Santa. The teacher will draw on camera, step-by-step, discussing along the way helpful techniques. The teacher will layout and draw a sketch of Santa's face on camera. Learner's will draw along with the teacher. After class: Learners are encouraged to share their drawings for help and feedback.

In this first lesson, we will review some basics skills needed for realistic portrait drawing. We will draw a guideline base and a generalized any person face. We will also draw a male face from a photo for practice. (2 videos)

The Main Face: Santa
In this lesson, we will work together to draw a realistic looking Santa. I will draw on camera step-by-step discussing along the way helpful techniques. (1 video in two parts -watching the videos and drawing along are the two assignments, 1 pdf reference photo)
