Teaching students grammar and how to find errors in their writing can be hard for students. One of the best ways to teach students how to find errors in their own texts is to help find errors in other texts. In this class, I will teach a mini-lesson on a grammar concept. After, students will be presented with a paragraph. I will give students time to look over the paragraph themselves and find errors. Together, we will look over the errors in the text and discuss why there are errors. I will be writing the text to be fun and enjoyable for students using topics they like. For instance, topics may include video games, shows, and sports. If you message me a suggestion for a topic, I will try to make a paragraph for one of my classes about it. I ask that you message me more than 24 hours before class. By messaging me the topic, it will not guarantee that it is used in class. There are multiple students in each section and I want to make sure that the topic is appropriate. MINI-LESSONS February 7- Commas February 14- Capitalization more to be announced...

Teacher expertise and credentials
Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Millersville University
Hello! I am Sara Howell. I live in a small town in Pennsylvania. I am PK through sixth-grade general education teacher and PK- 12 grade special education. I graduated from Millersville University with a degree in both early childhood education and special education. I have worked in infant through eighth-grade general education and special education classrooms. I have taught over 5,000 ESL and reading classes online. This fall will be my seventh year teaching online. I love teaching ONLINE!
I like to create classes that engage and support all learners. I use informal and formal assessments to see what a student needs to succeed. I want to not only teach students content but help them develop a lifelong desire for learning. One of my strengths as a teacher is breaking down the content for students in an easy and understandable way. I try to make sure that students have mastered basic skills before we move on to the harder concepts. My classes are designed to move at the pace the students in the classroom need.
In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends.
Feel free to contact me about how I can support your child in the classroom.
Please note that Outschool is my job, so I have a limited refund policy on my classes. I spend time preparing for the class. Outschool states that teachers may wait 10 minutes in the class, then cancel it if there is no student present.
I cannot guarantee that I am able to respond to messages 4 pm eastern Friday to 9 am eastern Monday.
