Grade 7 & 8 English Language Arts (ELA) Literature Part 1 of 4: FLEX

This 4-week course will cover Part 1 of the 7th & 8th grade common core standards. This is a great opportunity for homeschooled students to get a complete ELA instruction or for students requiring extra help or enrichment.

Description

Class Experience

Bachelors (4.2 GPA) in English Literature and Music
Masters degree (4.0 GPA) in Composition

I have 19 years experience working with teens with academics and creativity, whether it may be with sharpening writing skills, honing in on proper grammar, and even discovering one's true writer's voice. Literature studies are the backbone of any society and bridge the gap between distant and not so distant timelines, ethnicities, cultures, and moral values that propel humanity forward.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parents are the best judge of their learners' sensitivities and maturity. Some of the pieces we will read are intense, and a few bring up sensitive issues, such as innate violence. I would be happy to provide links for parents to preview any of the literature they are concerned about.
