This course will is a social studies Bootcamp for elementary school students. All of the topics will be pulled from the social studies curriculum so this will be an amazing support to homeschool parents. Students are welcome to come and go as they wish as each week will not be connected with the past and will be a new and original topic. The class topics that will be covered are the following: 1. Maps 2. Venn diagrams. 3. Ancient Artifacts 4. Ancient civilizations: Greece, Rome, and China. 5. Ancient Civilizations: The Incas and The Mayans. 6. The West African empire of Mali. 7. Medieval Europe 8. Earth and the Sun's Energy 9. Environments and Biomes 10. The World's Resources. 11. Population 12. Humans and Their Environment 13. Globalization 14. Tourism Each class will cover different interesting facts about the topics above. These classes will be very interactive and will have students talking and interacting with each other. This will be a lecture-type class that will build on the student's ideas. However, if students prefer to listen that is fine as well but please let me know before the class. This is an introductory level course and students do not need any prior geography or social studies knowledge.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a geography graduate from a well known Canadian university. Here I learned all about ancient civilizations and how they helped mold the world that we lived in today. I also heavily studied maps and the importance of them. Not only that but I studied years of world economics and of it affects the world and the independent country. I have also studied economics in university for years and have a large understanding of the earths resources and how the impact countries around the world. I have also studied anthropology with is an extensive study on people and how they interact with the environment around them. I also taught AP geography to high school students so not only do I have an in-depth understanding of geography and the world around us but I have successfully taught courses in it as well. A lot of this information I can provide myself from years of studying it but it will also come from textbooks as well as following USA curriculum guidelines.
