Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
We will be learning about a different topic each day for 1 week.

I will be using the Generation Genius's website's materials that I've paid for for classroom use and have their permission to use.

Each day we will talk about these 5 science topics in any order:

1. Variation of Traits
2. Chemical vs. Physical Changes
3. Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
4. Magnets and Static Electricity
5. How Do We Use Food

The class time will include the following:

1) Welcome everyone and introduce ourselves
2) Ice breaker/just for fun question and check in to see how everyone is doing, (maybe someone wants to share something about their their day or something they are looking forward to.)
3) Before video discussion questions related to that day's science topic
4) Watch the 10-12 minutes video together from Generation Genius
5) After Video discussion questions

(+ depending on the amount of class time left, I will go over vocabulary, reading material, and worksheet)

I'll read the discussion questions and give learners time to think and share their ideas before reading the provided answer from the Generation Genius website.

I like teaching where I say information or ask questions and encourage students to say their ideas. I like a conversation style of teaching where I can also learn from the learners ideas or compliment their ideas etc. I may not have thought about in addition to sharing my ideas. I care and show interest in what learners have to say about the topic.

**Students do not need to have any previous science knowledge. I'll be speaking in English but comfortable with ESL students or students with special needs since I have an ESL certificate as well as an ESL endorsement and General Ed endorsement, etc. so everyone is welcome! I look forward to making this class fun and meaningful for your learners!

I have permission to use GenerationGenius.com since I paid for the classroom membership. I will be screen sharing their 10-12 minute video, and depending on the time, there is also some reading material, and a worksheet they've made in addition to me reading the before and after video questions to lead the discussions. Your child does not have to have a Generation Genius account since I will be screen sharing but they do make science and math lessons if you wish to check them.

Hi Families,
Welcome to my profile.

I have a variety of group classes here on Outschool, but mainly focus on 1:1 English tutoring.

I am an experienced online English as a Second Language teacher as well as other subjects, and a mom of an elementary age child. classes.

I have been teaching online English classes to ESL students since 2012. Currently, I work for another company where I tutor children in K-12th grade depending on the subject.

I joined Outschool because I enjoy making my own classes and teaching people from around the world. As of now, I've taught someone from all continents except Antarctica and Africa.

Before teaching online, I was an Elementary substitute classroom teacher, nanny, and tutor.
I enjoy teaching and interacting with children all of ages. Some students have told me they wish class time wasn't over or how they had so much fun! I am able to be serious and also funny with puppets or other props depending on the learner's age. I am a friendly teacher with a calm presence and have seen shy students warm up to talking once they get used to me.

I have been told and know I do a great job building a connection with students and encouraging participation.

I am a published children's author of short children's stories meant for ESL students that are available in Asia. I have copies of my books within reach if there's a time to read from them like in a tutoring class. I'd be more than happy to read and discuss the short stories.

My family likes to play tennis, play games, and travel in addition to being creative and curious about life! We are looking forward to our next cruise this Summer.

I sincerely look forward to teaching your learner in one of my classes.
