This has been one of my most popular classes on Outschool! Children who have come to the class loved being able to talk and enjoyed hearing and seeing other children with their animal(s) as well as hearing about our young dog. We often hear "aww!" when people see him! Your child will get plenty of talk time. I keep the class flow like a conversation with each other that I guide with questions. We talk about pets vs. animals in the wild, asking what pets need, etc. in addition to sharing about our own pets. Pets do not need to be held if they don't want to be. It is okay to just talk about your pet(s). In this class, students will practice speaking in front of others about their own pet (or even a pet they want, or even a stuffed animal is fine too!) as well as listening to others share about their pet(s). We will take turns asking questions about the pets. I like to involve everyone and make everyone feel comfortable so it's okay if your student is shy. After everyone has shared some information about their pet(s) and we've asked questions, I can make up a game such as "this pet loves carrots" to see if everyone can guess which pet is being described. I'll make the class enjoyable because I love teaching and will sincerely enjoy seeing and hearing about all of the children's pets too! I look forward to seeing your children in the class! If you have more than one child attending from your family, please remember to enroll them individually. That is one of Outschool's rules. Thank you! 😊 Class will be between 20-30 minutes depending on the number of students and how much people want to talk about their pets and pet discussions, etc.
Learning Goals
Students will practice speaking, listening, and taking turns in addition to asking and answering questions or share comments. .

Hi Families,

I am an experienced online English as a Second Language teacher as well as other subjects, and a mom of an elementary age child. classes.
I have been teaching online English classes to ESL students since 2012. Currently, I work for another company where I tutor children in K-12th grade depending on the subject.
I joined Outschool because I enjoy making my own classes and teaching people from around the world. As of now, I've taught someone from all continents except Antarctica and Africa.
Before teaching online, I was an Elementary substitute classroom teacher, nanny, and tutor.
I enjoy teaching and interacting with children all of ages. Some students have told me they wish class time wasn't over or how they had so much fun! I am able to be serious and also funny with puppets or other props depending on the learner's age. I am a friendly teacher with a calm presence and have seen shy students warm up to talking once they get used to me.
I have been told and know I do a great job building a connection with students and encouraging participation.
I am a published children's author of short children's stories meant for ESL students that are available in Asia. I have copies of my books within reach if there's a time to read from them like in a tutoring class. I'd be more than happy to read and discuss the short stories.
My family likes to play tennis, play games, and travel in addition to being creative and curious about life! We are looking forward to our next cruise this Summer.
I sincerely look forward to teaching your learner in one of my classes.
