Class Experience

Students are welcome to join at any time, even if they have not started a garden! Students do not need any gardening experience. The instructor aims to meet students where they are and encourage them in their gardening endeavors.

Each week the instructor will show something related to gardening, and students will be encouraged to share as well! From week to week students may pop in for just 1 class, or stay in the class for a while to cover a variety of topics. Students will be able to see things like plant growth, real life troubleshooting on how to best take care of plants, identifying pests & what to do about them, pruning, starting a compost, when to harvest vegetables or cut flowers, saving seeds for next year, what is in season in our area, etc!

Topics covered during class will depend on what students have each week to share.

The instructor will cover (for example)
Week 1 Starting plants from seeds: watermelon & cantaloupe
Week 2: Harvesting asparagus & rhubarb
Week 3: Watering the plants- how much?
Week 4: Picking the best location to plant a peony bush

Hi!

I teach piano lessons, voice lessons, trumpet lessons, and general music lessons! I have taught private music lessons for 20 years now! Wow! Haha! I have my masters degree in piano performance/pedagogy from Bowling Green State University. I love to make music fun & I enjoy working with young children, middle grade & high school students to especially encourage them! Along with my in person students, I have taught a great deal of lessons online. I have three kids under the age of 5 so every day is a new adventure!! Hope to see you soon!
