US Grade 3 - 6
No prior knowledge of gardening is required. Feel free to bring anything to class that you would like to show your teacher. For example: plants, seeds, gardening tools, or pictures of your garden. The week of August 2nd we will learn about good and bad bugs in the garden. The week of August 9th we will learn about growing potatoes, carrots, turnips, and radishes. The week of August 16th we will learn about growing tomatoes and peppers. The week of August 23rd we will learn about growing strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. The week of August 30th we will learn about growing cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli. The week of September 6th we will learn about growing squash, zucchini, and pumpkins. The week of September 13th we will learn about growing watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, and kajari melon. The week of September 20th we will learn about growing marigolds, basil, cilantro, and onions. The week of September 27th we will learn about growing garlic, sugar snap peas, green beans, and pinto beans. The week of October 4th we will learn about growing corn, lettuce, and spinach.
