Beginner’s Piano Class - Piano Pronto Prelude (Part 1)

In this class we will work together to learn how to play the piano!  Students do not need any music knowledge before taking this class. Students will be required to purchase Piano Pronto Prelude book by Jennifer Eklund, and they will need a piano or keyboard to practice with! 

We will be moving at a fairly quick pace, and students will be playing favorite songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle, and Jingle Bells by the end of these 8 weeks! Students will learn how to read the notes on the music staff right away! Students will learn proper beats and counting, along with hand technique & proper hand positioning for playing. In this class we will be focusing on notes C, D,E, F, G, and A for the right hand. 

The teacher is passionate about making learning the piano accessible to all learners. The teacher strives to help the student feel confident like they can do it! The teacher aims to encourage students greatly. 

Example schedule:
August 1 Week 1: intro to the keyboard & piece #1. 
August 8 Week 2: review piece 1 and work on learning #2 and #3. 
August 22 Week 3: review piece 1 and 2, learn piece 4. 
August 29 Week 4: review piece 3 and 4, learn piece 5.
Sept 5 Week 5: review pieces 1-3, learn piece 6.
Sept 12 Week 6: review pieces 4-6, learn piece 7.
Sept 19 Week 7: review piece 7, learn piece 8.
Sept 26 Week 8: review piece 8 & other favorites! 

If students have started lessons but are feeling discouraged, this would be a great class to take to help build their confidence. 
If students are brand new to piano, this is a great class for them to get started! 
My other class, “Beginner’s Piano Class (Level 1) would be a great supplement to this class and can be taken before, during, or after this course. 

Also look for my Piano Pronto Power Pages Theory flex class, which students could take to work on theory and writing practice that goes along with this book. 

After this class, students will be ready for my prelude part 2 class!
