Fractions are an important concept in Math, and one that students struggle with. It is important to lay a good foundation for student understanding. In this class, I will introduce students to the idea of fractions and what they are. We will discuss the concept of fractions being part of a whole, how they are written, numerator, and denominator. I will show the students some examples where they will be able to visually see what the fractions represent, and how they compare. I will then guide the students through some problems. We will then do a simple activity to check for understanding.
