In this American History class, students will learn about Alexander Hamilton, one of the authors of the United States Consitution.

Class experience

The subject of slavery will be very limited and will only include Hamilton's opposition to it due to his upbringing in the Caribbean observing the horrors of the slave trade yet he did make compromises during the constitutional convention concerning slavery.
The book "1776: by David McCauley, the websites www.alexanderhamilton.org and https://www.nps.gov/hagr/index.htm, the book "The Essential Hamilton: Letters and Other Writings", and the Federalist Papers are the sources used for this class.
