Beginner - Advanced Level
Class Description: In this one on one class you get to help decide what you learn. During our first session you will get to pick what animals, topics, etc that you want to learn about during class. You will also get to decide how you want to learn. Do you like to color, do games, create projects, take notes, or just have fun talking about animals? This class could be for you. Examples for class topics: Animals (habitat, fun facts, adaptations, diets, conservation status, etc), What is Conservation/what does it mean?, Types of animals (invasive, endangered, etc), Animal Food Chains, and anything else you can come up with that you want to learn during class. Why This Class: I have worked at an AZA accredited zoo for eight years educating students, campers, and family on animals and conservation. I have worked with kids for over 20 years and 10 years as a classroom teacher. Class Schedule: 1st Class: 5 minutes: Introductions 15 minutes: HIPPO and AZA terminology (vulnerable, endangered, data deficient, etc) 20 minutes: We will make a game plan for what you want to learn. You'll get to tell me what animals you want to learn about and how you want to learn. 5 minutes: Wrap up Examples of topics are listed about in class description Class Materials: This will depend on the student desires for class. If I need to create materials I will send them prior to class. A general rule will be pencil or pen, coloring materials, scissors, glue

Learning Needs
Since this course is designed to fit learners needs to help them succeed, materials and presentation will be adjusted to best fit your learners needs. I have been an educator for over 12 years so I have lots of experience with diverse kids.
Parental Guidance
Learners may be using scissors, glue, etc as needed. Please take the necessary precautions.
Learners may be using trivia games on kahoot during class. I will either provide screen sharing or learners can do the game themselves or on their own devices but they will need to know how to split their screen.
Pre-Requisites
Since this course is based on learners needs there's no prerequisites for this course outside of contacting me and letting me know what your learner's skills are and what they need to work on.
