Beginner - Advanced Level
Your student will step right into a fascinating journey through American history! The United States has had 45 different people serve as president since gaining independence from Great Britain. Each week, we’ll dive into the life of a new president, discovering everything from their birthplace and schooling to their favorite foods and hobbies. Students will learn where they went to college and what careers they chose. We'll uncover what inspired them to run for president, who their vice president was, and what they did after leaving office. 

With captivating slides and engaging videos, each president will come to life, making the learning experience truly unforgettable! Plus, students will groove to the rhythm of the president's song, a catchy tune that will help them remember each president's name and the order in which they served as president. Get ready to compare your likes and dislikes to those of the presidents and create your very own book, a president's book filled with colorful pages and fascinating biographical notes. It's going to be an epic adventure through history that your student won't want to miss.

Learning Goals

The learning goals for this class are two:
1.	Gain a comprehensive understanding of the lives and legacies of the 46 presidents of the United States, including unique cases like Grover Cleveland serving nonconsecutive terms.
2.	Explore and compare each president's background, childhood, education, favorite foods, hobbies, and post-presidential activities of each president to gain insight into their lives and historical significance.
3.	Given up familiarity with the presidential order and names through the engaging “president song” to aid in memorization and recall.
4.	Utilize multimedia resources such as slides, videos, and music to enhance the learning experience and make the study of history engaging and memorable.
5.	Encourage critical thinking and self-expression by comparing the president's preferences with their own and creating a personalized book of presidents to reinforce learning and foster creativity.
6.	Foster an appreciation for American history and the presidency, instilling a sense of curiosity and respect for the leaders who have shaped the nation.

Other Details

Learning Needs
This class is designed with the needs of neurodivergent students in mind. Dyslexi font is used for all reading materials to aid those with Dyslexia. Students will never be called on randomly only when they volunteer.
Parental Guidance
All content is age-appropriate. No sensitive material will be presented.
Supply List
Crayons, colored pencils, markers (your choice). Pen or pencil for writing.

I hold a BA in History with minors in Women's Studies and Humanities and an MA in History.  My area of specialty is women's history (My studies also include the history of  Women of Color and Indigenous Women), and American (United States) history from the 1560s to 1960s. I have completed numerous continuing education courses covering different topics in history.
