During each and every class the teacher and learners will discuss the assigned chapters and learners will be able to share their thoughts, insights, and questions about the story. Learners will also engage in creative writing activities inspired by the book, such as composing poems or short stories. They will also participate in hands-on art projects that are connected to the book's themes and characters, allowing them to express their understanding of the text in a creative way. At the end of the six weeks, each learner will present a final project related to "Rebound." This could be a presentation, artwork, a short story, or any other creative expression of their understanding of the book. Here is the breakdown of the weeks: **** Learners will need to read pages 1-46 before the first class. **** Week 1: pages 1-46 Week 2: pages 47-92 Week 3: pages 93-138 Week 4: pages 139-184 Week 5: pages 185-230 Week 6: pages 231-276 Week 7: pages 277-322 Week 8: pages 323-368 Week 9: pages 367-414 The book club will be led by enthusiastic facilitators who are well-versed in the novel and its themes, making sure each meeting is interactive, inclusive, and exciting for all participants. By offering a blend of reading, interactive activities, and hands-on experiences, this book club ensures that middle school students have a comprehensive and enjoyable journey through "Rebound" by Kwame Alexander. "Rebound" by Kwame Alexander talks about death of a parent and depression. The theme of the book is about rebounding from the bad/sad events in our life and about how life can get better. There is also mention of teenage crushes.
