There is nothing more special than homemade gifts and cards! The extra detail you put into your card will be noticed and appreciated! In this class, I will show you with detailed instructions and examples, how to make a card with your choice of paper and design. Each card will be unique and can be personalized for the special occasion you want to use it for. If you can fold, cut and glue, then you will have no problems making a card you will be proud of! I will send the paper required for each card 1 day before class. You can measure and cut during class if you are unable to prepare the materials before we meet. We will begin by introducing ourselves and we will share who we would like to give our themed card to. I will show the class how to begin cutting, folding, and gluing to complete the design. We will also discuss how we can personalize this card for their special person. The design will be completed during class and the personalization can be finished after class. Week 1 - Popup Birthday Cake Week 2 - Interlocking Hearts Week 3 - Popup Bouquet Week 4 - Springy Hearts

We will be using scissors during this class that could be dangerous if not used correctly.
Supply List
I will send measurements and pattern suggestions for the papers required for each card design a day before class. You will need various colors of card stock, colored paper, and/or scrapbooking paper I will give suggestions, but the choices are up to you! You need scissors and can also use a small papercutter for some designs You need a glue such as Mod Podge/ small brush or a glue stick. Elmers glue could work, but sometimes warps thin paper.

HI! I'm Heidi! I'm so excited to meet you! I have a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. I'm TESOL certified and I also became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2008. I have had the most amazing experiences during my 17 years in the classroom and 3 years teaching online. I use each moment of my class for intentional learning and adapt the lesson to meet my student's needs. If it's possible, I like to introduce a topic and integrate it into reading, writing, math, and sometimes a craft to bring it all together. I can also help students master concepts by applying a variety of approaches to my presentation. We look, we listen, we sing, and move. Learning is so fun when we make it into a game or puzzle. Over the past years, I have built up a collection of fun ways to learn online. Most importantly - We never stop learning!
Besides being a teacher, I am a wife and mom with 2 teenage girls and a precious dog! We love to spend time together. My girls play soccer and swim; both sports take a lot of time. When we are not watching our girls play sports, we love to explore. We've been to many amazing places in the US - from coast to coast - learning about the past, hiking mountains, biking, kayaking, and swimming - and taking pictures everywhere we go!
