Flutterbys! Comparing Butterflies and Moths: PreK Learning With Ms. Liz
Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
In this one-time class we will read stories about and learn how butterflies and moths are the same and different. We'll engage in vocabulary, I Spy and Pattern activities and use the information we learn in class to color in our own moth and butterfly pages togther. Little learners can build great listening, observation and creative thinking skills during storytime, asking questions and using their imagination. In fact, did you know that reading aloud to kids has clear cognitive benefits?...
- Learners will strengthen literacy, listening and sharing skills and observation and speaking skills while we talk about butterflies and moths We will learn new vocabulary words, work on visual discrimination skills and practice fine motor and direction following skills when we color our butterfly and moth pictures. **In order to promote class discussions and participation I do not mute learners' microphones. This also helps learners practice their social skills such as active listening and taking turns. In order for this to work, students need to be in a quiet setting away from background noises (loud conversations, telephone calls, t.v, etc.). **
1 file available upon enrollmentPlease bring coloring tools to class (ie. crayons, colored pencils, markers) and print out the included printable for enrolled learners. We will work on coloring in each picture as we revisit facts we've learned about butterflies and moths from our stories and practice symmetrical coloring.
Because of the age of the class I recommend a grown up be within "ear-shot" to help with any technical hiccups (mic and video) that might come up. **In order to promote class discussions and participation I do not mute learners' microphones.
