This class is a group studio class for Mrs. Grant's current private flute students. We will meet at the end of the school year to play solos, discuss general flute topics, and get projects for summer. In studio class, learners who are taking private lessons will meet with other young flutists. This gives the student an opportunity to be part of a flute community. In the studio class, I will lead discussions about the flute and flute playing. The students will be encouraged to participate and ask questions. We will work on solos individually in lessons, and the students may perform them in the class. This performance can be with a piano player, a play along track, or with only flute. I encourage the students to play during class, but if they prefer to record the music, that is an option also. I want them to participate at the level where they feel comfortable. We, as musicians, are all at different playing levels. Some have been playing only a few months, and some for years. Some musicians are better at tone. Some are better at rhythm. Some are better at technique. We can all learn from each other, and support each other! The students will be sent a private link for each studio class.
