This is an alternative to the "Ongoing Advanced Photography Workshop for Teens" (https://outschool.com/classes/ongoing-advanced-photography-workshop-for-teens-1LaERBnb#usDREjiRzx), this one is eligible for PO payments due to its fixed schedule. *To avoid confusion and unnecessary charges to you, please do NOT register without completing Manual DSLR Photography for Teens 101 + 201, or getting approval from me via a placement. In some cases learners who understand the time commitment and have demonstrated interest during the 101 can attend this workshop without taking the 201. If you would like to apply to place into it, feel free to send me a message and we can determine the class that will be the best fit for your learner. You will be withdrawn if you register without completing the prerequisite or prior communication with me.* This is a workshop class for students who have graduated from my 101 or 201 courses. Students will be assigned a new prompt/project each week, but are free to follow their own interests as well. Within the supportive community of teacher and peers, students can refine their skills discussing their own work as well as giving and receiving both positive and constructive "critique" with the other students, using the language of photography. Learners will experiment with weekly creating prompts, set creative goals, and explore personal projects and visual concepts. This is a 10-week "photography club" style workshop class for students who have graduated from my 101 or 201 courses. Students will be assigned a new prompt/project each week, but are free to follow their own interests as well. Within the supportive community of teacher and peers, students can refine their skills discussing their own work as well as giving and receiving both positive and constructive "critique" with the other students, using the language of photography. Students can enroll in consecutive sessions, class content will differ. 📷 Class Goals for Learners #1 To develop your creative voice through projects that help you find and explore your creative and technical limits in order to make photographs that you feel excited about, by: - Expanding your use of content and form as introduced in the 101 + 201 class. - Building use of concept and context into your work, developing your creative voice in order to communicate personal and original ideas visually. #2 To practice the skill of articulating a technical critique of photographs, through a content/form/concept lens. #3 To learn about photo history, theory, and famous photographers. #4 To connect with like-minded students and create a supportive community. 📷 Regular Day Schedule Photographer of the Day Each week, we will learn about a new photographer. We will look at a few of their photos and complete a group critique on one, following the Advanced Workshop Peer Feedback Guide. Peer Feedback in Small Groups Working in breakout rooms, learners will share your photos from the previous assignment with each other. Critique Presentation Back in the large group, learners will present the work they critiqued, identifying a key 2-3 points from the provided peer critique guide. Lesson/New Project Prompt In the lesson we will learn about a new concept, technique, or idea, and a project prompt will be offered. Learners are welcome to use this prompt as a “launching pad,” they are not obligated to follow it exactly if they end up on a creative tangent inspired by the exploration. Questions/Sharing Suggestion for a project, or questions you want answered? A super awesome photo from outside of the week’s project? Now’s the time! **Note: I also work part-time on-call as a birth doula, and may be at a birth and need to cancel a class. In the event of this, a 1-class refund or make-up class will be offered, whichever you prefer.**
