Class Title: Main Idea Mastery Workshop

Class Description: Dive deep into the core of reading comprehension with our Main Idea Mastery Workshop, a focused 5-day intensive course for students aged 9 to 12. This workshop zeroes in on understanding and identifying the main idea, supporting details, and topic sentences in various texts. It's ideal for boosting reading and analytical skills over a short period.

Class Experience: Each day of the workshop is carefully structured to progressively build the students' abilities to discern and discuss main ideas effectively:

Introduction of the Skill of the Day – Kick off each session with a clear introduction to the day’s key focus, preparing students for a deep dive into specific aspects of the main idea.
Vocabulary Introduction – Introduce essential vocabulary that ties directly into the day's lessons.
Vocabulary Game and Flocabulary Video – Use interactive games and Flocabulary videos to reinforce the vocabulary and concepts.
Mini Lesson and Mentor Text – Conduct targeted mini lessons using mentor texts that exemplify the skill, ensuring practical understanding.
Independent Practice on Raz-Kids – Engage students with leveled reading passages on Raz-Kids, applying what they've learned to answer targeted comprehension questions.
Group Discussion on Padlet – Facilitate a group discussion on Padlet where students share insights and learn from each other’s perspectives, reinforcing the day's lessons.
Additional Tools: Incorporate engaging educational tools like Boom Cards for interactive exercises and Kahoot for real-time assessments to enhance learning and maintain high engagement.
