Factoring Quadratics Review for Algebra 1, Algebra 2, or Pre-Calculus
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We will cover factoring by grouping and then use that skill to spend the majority of class factoring quadratic trinomials by grouping. Special case factoring will be included. Students should have prior knowledge of factoring out a GCF. Ideally, students have seen factoring quadratics but may not yet be to the point of comfort or have gotten rusty. This class is meant to help students gain comfort in factoring, since it is a skill they will need for several future math courses. Students can work on notebook paper or on a whiteboard. I’ll have students completing practice problems with me and provide many opportunities to ask questions and get clarification so they can iron out the skill of factoring quadratics and get to a point of comfort and confidence. This class will be an interactive lecture-based course. Students will be encouraged to talk. I will be sharing my screen so students can see what I write and students will be able to show their work using a virtual whiteboard for select problems so I can monitor their work.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to factor quadratic expressions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm Audrey and I've been a high school math teacher for the past 6 years. I've taught just about every high school level math course and have excelled at helping struggling and advanced learners alike.
I've taught Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Support, Geometry, Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Support, College Credit Pre-Calculus, and College Credit Statistics. I have also taught summer school every year that I've been teaching.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and minors in computer programming and economics, as well as a Master of the Arts in Teaching degree, specializing in secondary education. In June 2020, I also received my principal's license.
My teaching style includes super structured and detailed notes that are meant to make sense and be easy to follow and refer back to. My teaching style is to always start small and build off of what we already know that way each topic doesn't feel brand new and, instead, feels interconnected. I'm also pretty corny and like to have fun with my students. My teaching style is very conversational, including students in helping each step along the way.
Something fun and personal: I LOVE Pizza Rolls and I can play the flute.
