Exploring Artificial Intelligence: A Hands-On Introduction to AI

This course is an introduction to the use of AI tools that are available online.  This course builds a strong foundation in the fundamentals of AI through a series of individual, self-paced lessons.  Students will learn the basics of AI, its applications, ethical considerations, and how they can use AI tools to create projects and make their lives easier. 

Specific topics covered are:
=> What is artificial intelligence
=> How does AI learn?
=> Exploring AI tools and platforms
=> AI and creativity
=> The future of AI: Careers and ethical challenges

This is a flexible schedule course, meaning that there are no live meetings. Each week, new videos, notes pages, and an interactive, automatically graded quiz will be posted to the classroom. There will also be a discussion thread where students can ask for help from teacher.  To get the most out of this course, the teacher will provide notes pages with blanks for the students to fill in as they watch the videos.  Students are expected to complete the online quiz each week as the material builds upon itself weekly.
 
The teacher is always be available via message (either in the classroom discussion or private message) and will typically reply within 12 hours, but never more than 24 hours unless extenuating circumstances.
