Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 12
This 17-week course is designed to cover half of a typical high school level chemistry curriculum. However, this does not mean that interested younger learners should not take this class. Anyone interested in learning about chemistry in an engaging way at their own pace should sign up for this class.

Each block of instruction is described below and will include hands-on lab experiments to compliment the material being learned in the class. Each week, a new lesson will be posted for students to complete at their own pace. Each lesson includes approximately an hour of video lecture and includes fill-in-the-blank note pages and practice problems for the students to complete.

                                                    Block 1: Atoms and Molecules

This is a flexible schedule course, meaning that there are no live meetings. Each week new videos, notes pages, and practice problems will be posted to the classroom. The completed practice problems will be uploaded to the classroom (either scanned or a picture taken) for feedback from the teacher. There will be a discussion thread where students can ask for help from the class and the teacher. Each week an experiment will be posted that follows the lesson material.

To get the most out of this course, the teacher will provide notes pages with blanks for the students to fill in as they watch the videos. Students are expected to complete the practice problems each week as the material builds upon itself weekly.

The teacher is always available via message (either in the classroom discussion or private message) and will typically reply within 12 hours, but never more than 24 hours unless extenuating circumstances.
