Essay Workshop (Private Tutoring)

Writing can be overwhelming. Writing with a deadline and on a topic you didn't choose even more so. I spent over a decade in the Academy developing a method of writing instruction which brings tension, stakes, and energy back into writing assignments. In this one-on-one session, you can send me questions, ideas, snippets, or full essays ahead of time and I will meet with you to workshop.

I can help with anything but here are some examples to get your gears turning:
-Your paper is too long or too short.
-You read the book and have the prompt but can't settle on a thesis statement you want to argue.
-You cannot seem to word your thesis in an arguable way.
-You are having trouble finding deciding on the best evidence to support your argument.
-You are having difficulty breaking your argument down into smaller pieces to tackle with different paragraphs.

I can also focus on a requested area if you have an area you are working on, either from your own goals or those from a teacher.
