Basics of Drawing: Line, shape, form, and the fundamental skills of sketching and shading. -Elements of Art: Focus on color, composition, form, and how they relate to the themes and imagery of Harry Potter. A combination of guided exercises and more imaginative projects based on the books. Topics to Cover: - Art & Context from Each Harry Potter Book: iconic moments, characters, or settings to inspire different drawing projects. Allowing students to create their own takes on the Harry Potter world, using both the books and their imagination for inspiration. Class Structure: - Peer Discussion: Each class will begin or end with students discussing what they've drawn, how they interpreted the book's themes, and giving feedback to one another. - Live Demonstrations - Step-by-Step Projects How You Will Teach: - Lead Discussions: You'll guide the class through thought-provoking discussions about both the art and the storylines from Harry Potter, encouraging students to explore different ideas. - Demonstrations: You'll break down complex art concepts into manageable steps, ensuring all students feel comfortable trying new things. - Words of Encouragement: As a teacher, your supportive and positive style will help students gain confidence in both their art and creative thinking.
