Beginner Level
This course will stimulate your child's interest in growing succulents, and set them on the path to becoming familiar with these unique plants. *Please note that I prefer students to have their videos on during classtime and keep chatroom conversation to a minimum. This is a brief introduction to succulents. We will learn what is a succulent plant. Why are they easy to grow? How can I propagate them? These are a few questions that we will answer in this fun class. Daily Objectives: Day 1 *Learn the characteristics of different cacti and succulents. Learn how some are medicinal and edible. I will teach students how to peel thorns off of cacti in order to cook them by demonstrating it online. Day 2 *Why are they easy to grow? What conditions are needed? What water, soil, and temperature requirements are needed for certain varieties? Which succulents grow in cooler weather vs. warmer areas? Day 3 *Learn how to propagate them. Day 4 *Grow them as decorative container plants, inside or out. They make great gifts.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to grow succulents and how to display them. Mainly to find a love for succulents.

Texas Teaching Certificate in Science
Having taught Biology for thirty-five years to all ages, I have an understanding of the structural and physiological structures in plants. I am an avid gardener myself. I particularly love succulents because I live in Texas. Living in Texas, one has to choose plants that can withstand our lack of rain and temperatures.
