Class Experience

Dive into a chilling mystery in our adventure, Frozen Sick! You'll join forces to investigate a haunting disease turning villagers into ice. Uncover dark secrets, battle menacing foes, and race against time to save a communityβ€”and possibly yourselvesβ€”from a fatal, magical disease.

This adventure is perfect for both new and experienced players. The quest serves as a thrilling gateway for newcomers with a wide range of opportunites for more seasoned players.

Class Structure:
CLASS 1: MONDAY - Introductions & Character Creation

Introductions - Learners will greet each other, discuss their experience with Dungeons & Dragons or similar games, and describe their hopes for the week.

Rules - As a group, learners will create a set of rules to follow through the week. These will include how to communicate with each others, what type of language is allowed, what are postive ways to play the game, and how to show respect for your fellow learners.

Palebank Village: An overview of the setting and situation in Palebank Village, introducing the mystery of the deadly frigid woe disease.

Character Creation - Learners will then create their characters ready to use for the adventure starting the next day.

CLASS 2: TUESDAY - Investigation
Adventure: The adventurers are asked to look into the mysterious deaths by Elro Aldataur, the community leader.

CLASS 3: WEDNESDAY - Croaker Cave
Adventure: The adventurers venture into Croaker Cave to clear out Uttolot thugs and find more clues.

CLASS 4: THURSDAY - Journey to Eiselcross
Adventure: The characters set sail to Eiselcross in search of a cure, following in the footsteps of Urgon Wenth.

CLASS 5: FRIDAY -Salsvault Showdown
Adventure: The final leg of the journey takes players into the heart of the dangerous Salsvault.

Highlight Reel - Learners will collaboratively compile their Top 5 (or more) favorite moments from the week's adventure.

Learning Outcomes - Students will reflect on the skills they've developed, the challenges they've overcome, and areas for future growth.

Farewell - The adventurers will discuss their next steps in the world of D&D and say their goodbyes, cherishing the friendships and memories they've made.

Requirements:
Students will need access to a computer for the duration of the camp.

We will be utilizing D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/) for character management and virtual tabletop gameplay.

Parental Guidance
This class features gameplay that includes fighting and killing monsters, so parents should be aware that the story and themes will include these elements. We also use the websites D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/) and Owlbear Rodeo (https://www.owlbear.rodeo/). D&D Beyond is an officially licensed game by the Wizards of the Coast who creates the game Dungeons & Dragons. We use the website exclusively for making the characters learners will use and them making a group so players can see each others characters. However parents should note that the website also features an online forum for members of the public. Therefore content cannot be fully censored. Owlbear Rodeo is a website that provides maps to use while playing.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I will use the Dungeons & Dragons (5th Ed.) sourcebooks for reference regarding the rules and gameplay. Primarily content found in the Player's Handbook. As well references from Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.
