❤️Welcome to five weeks of exploring the Cat in the Hat!💙 This self-paced class is designed to stimulate exploration and spike interest by using reading as the main tool. We will begin the week with reading the story and completing activities that range from counting, writing, imagination, drawing, cutting, coloring, and much more. The Cat In The Hat will be the focus each time we meet and the structure of the class will remain the same to produce consistency and easy flow of the class. I will include a lesson each week explaining what can be expected and depending on the recommended activity, I will go through each activity for learners who need one-on-one instruction and direction. This type of teaching style builds independence, confidence, and problem solving by allowing learners to pause, rewind, and check their work freely. This course is perfect for busy families, learners who prefer not to be on camera, and wanting the unique experience of interacting with students in different time zones. 📚 Week 1 bonus activity: Dr. Seuss Reading challenge, will be posted in lesson one. I highly encourage each student to participate and have fun reading their favorite books. 🧩 Access to Edpuzzle is needed- this entails making an account for the learner and entering in a class code. 📝 Due to the nature of this class having a self-paced schedule, there are no due dates or requirements to submit work. If your learner submits pictures of activities, I will respond within 24 hours with praise and feedback. 📍 Each learner is different and I will gladly extend the teacher comment period for students enjoying the activities and needing additional time to complete.
Learning Goals
📖 Reading skills: Children will strengthen their reading skills using a reading challenge with silly prompts
