Attention super sleuths! Welcome to the one-time version of Detective Club! If you would like to get a taste of the weekly version of Detective Club, or catch up on some cases you may have missed, this class is for you! In this class we will tackle one of students' favorite cases, Murder at the Law School. We will collect clues and interview suspects to find the culprit! Along the way, we will learn about the different types of evidence and their importance. We will also briefly learn what elements constitute the crime and discuss the act, mental state, and possible motives. This will be useful for the trial! See you in class!

Parental Guidance
Each class will discuss a murder. In conjunction with that, we will inevitably discuss the cause of death and circumstances surrounding the murder, such as: wounds, weapons, and manner of death. We do not look at real corpses or real blood. Outlines are used to represent the victims. By taking this class, students are expected to understand that murders occur and that foul play may be involved. The bulk of the class is spent interviewing witnesses or interrogating suspects. The time we spend focusing on the act of the murder itself is relatively short.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a law student that excelled in criminal law, evidence, and trial procedure. I also am a true crime enthusiast and spend a lot of time reading articles and watching documentaries on interesting cases. This class aims to link the study of legal theory with true crime. I have taught the ongoing version of this class weekly for about six months.
