Not ApplicableClass Experience
In this class, learners will be taught the basics of cursive handwriting. They will learn how to hold the pen/pencil comfortably to produce legible letter formations. They will learn how to connect the letters of their line, while focusing on the position of each letter on the lined paper. Slanting the paper to the right or left is also important and will be determined based on the dominant hand of the learner. By the end of the class the learners will be able to confidently write their full name and signature in cursive. Week of - Pen/Pencil Grip, Paper, and Cursive Formations Week of November 22 - Letter Formations and Name Writing Week of November 29 - Letter Formations and Name Writing Week of December 6 - Letter Formations and Word Writing Week of December 13 - Letter Formations and Word Writing *More lesson topics will be added following the week of December 13th. The class will be structured with brief introductions from myself and the students. We will also talk about the challenges of cursive handwriting. On a shared screen, I will show the students the importance of having a comfortable pencil grip, how to form the letters within the lines of the paper and how their names will be placed in each line. My teaching style is very relaxed, but upbeat, giving the learners opportunities to interact through introductions, sharing their challenges with cursive handwriting and the discussions we'll have as we practice writing in cursive. Student's do not need any prior knowledge of cursive handwriting to participate in this class.
Learning Goals
By the end of the class the learners will be able to confidently write their full name and signature in cursive.
