Crochet Social for Teenage Beginners - Starting a Basic Scarf
In this one off informal class, we will get to grips with a couple of basic crochet stitches
Class experience
Do you want to learn to crochet? This one-off class will teach you a couple of basic techniques to get you going! I will teach you how to create a chain, how to single crochet and how to turn your project - this is the basic starter for many projects and a really good way to begin making a scarf! A webcam will be set up so that learners can see my hands and yarn close up rather than my face so we can go slowly through each step. We will go at the learners' pace - no one will get left behind!...
As well as a secondary school teacher, I am an avid crocheter. My favourite thing to make at the moment is crochet crowns, but I am offering this basic class so students can have fun learner some of the first stitches you need to be able to create a project!
Learners will need a crochet hook (I recommend a size 4mm or 5 mm UK size) and some double knit DK yarn that is the right thickness for the hook. This information can usually be found on the yarn label.
