Hooked on Crochet! There is nothing quite like wearing your crochet designs to showcase your skill! Each week we will explore a new way to turn your yarn creations into fashion! Crochet combines creativity and mindfulness. The repetitive nature of crochet is calming, and has been proven to boost mood and lower stress. Each week we will explore a quick crochet fashion project, a new crochet stitch (single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet) we will familiarize ourselves with crochet patterns, terminology and advance our own personal crochet level. Our club will welcome all levels, sometimes the best way to expand on our own skill is by sharing and learning from peers. This ongoing club is a great place to meet with like minded crochet makers --learners who may have just started their crochet journey, and learners who have been crocheting for a while. This class welcomes all crochet levels within the 9- 12 age. Structure: Each class we will begin with a Sharing Square where as a club we will be checking in, and checking out projects that club members may have finished or are still working on. Following our Sharing Square, we will have a look at the Crochet Fashion Project of the week. Projects shared each week will be taught through step by step instruction and they are optional to all learners. Projects will be shared up to four weeks in advance in our class listing. Teaching Style: I teach in a step by step teaching style with the initial introduction of our projects. I like to get to know each learner on an individual basis and help them in their own creative journey. All learners will have different areas of interest, different skill levels and different work ethics -- some learners prefer freedom to explore whereas others prefer guidance throughout. Interaction: All learners will be invited to share projects, thoughts, ideas and are welcome to share tips and tricks. Required experience: Having some knowledge in crochet is an asset, all levels are welcome. What will you need? Each week please bring: - Yarn (Beginners, chunky yarn is best -- I like Bernat® Forever Fleece™ Yarn, Polyester #6 Super Bulky, 9.9oz/280g - Crochet Hooks (match your yarn the best you can, bring a variety if you are not sure. Chunky yarn users bring size either 8, 9, 10) - scissors - tapestry needle (plastic dollarstore ones work well!) Upcoming Four Week Schedule: ** Please note this listing is updated with new projects and supply lists. ** If the club section is low enrollment and at 1:1 ( 1 student) class length will be reduced to 40 minutes.
