Buzz into the fascinating world of bugs and insects in this interactive virtual science class. This course combines science, literacy, and creativity- perfect for young learners ready to investigate and display their knowledge. This class will begin with a movement video and warm introduction to set the stage for curious exploration. Together, we will read an age appropriate non-fiction text about a Creepy Crawly creature to learn key facts and uncover surprising details. Examples include: spiders, centipedes, snails, cockroaches. Using a fun and easy graphic organizer - we will collect and sort information to deepen understanding and support vocabulary. To wrap up our exploration each student will be supported in writing a sentence (or more!) to share what they learned. Finally- I will provide the option to follow a guided drawing or allow students to illustrate themselves to bring the creature to life!
Learning Goals
Students will identify basic characteristics and needs of insects and other creatures (body, diet, habitat, life cycle) by reading non-fiction texts.
Students will be supported in gathering and organizing information on a graphic organizer

I have been teaching early learners for over 13 years. I have been with public school for 10 years and before that I worked for an accredited pre-k program. I also hybrid- home school my own two children. I have successfully taught 100's of students to confidently read, write, and do basic math in fun and engaging ways. I have excellent student and parent relationships. I have taught many versions of this class format in person and virtually.
